Kotlin 1.3.40 released

Just recently Jetbrains announced the newest release of Kotlin. The new version will 1.3.40. According to their announcement the main focus was on:

  • Gradle support for NPM, Yarn, and Webpack for Kotlin/JS
  • Test runner improvements for multiplatform projects
  • New type inference
  • Performance and interoperability improvements for Kotlin/Native

Also, new functions were added to the standard library in an experimental state. This is a nice way to get to used to it without breaking existing code. But be aware that these APIs may change in future, which may break your code when you strongly depend on it.
